About MOORE Yarn

We are passionate about working with yarn and created "The Institute for Knitting & Crocheting".

We opened a yarn shop in 2013 and sold high quality yarn, taught knitting and crocheting classes, and created a yarn community with very avid Knitters and Crocheters in the Hazlet area. Yarn suppliers opened up online stores selling yarn at prices we could not compete with. Unfortunately, for those who purchase online do not get assistance if needed. We decided to change our business model to focusing on teaching, finishing, repairs, making items for resale. We are now adding UFO's (UnFinished Objects) to our services where we will finish projects you have started but don't have time to complete. We teach kids, left handed people and do group sessions as well. So the passion continues ...

Mitzy Moore

Mitzy Moore s a highly talented Knitter and Crocheter. She has written and published many patterns and is the Creator Mitzy Moore Handcrafts and Critter Fitters. Mitzy Moore Handcrafts makes MY Bags which are customized Handbags, Drawstring Bags and reusable Gift Bags for every occasion, as well as Teddy Bears and Amigurumi. Critter Fitters makes clothing and accessories for small animals and reptiles using yarn and fabric. There are many products at the shop available for purchase.

Flo Smith

Flo Smith is a Certified Instructor in the arts of Knitting & Crocheting by the National Craft Yarn Council. Flo is the Dean at the Institute who is responsible for the curriculum and all of the published training materials. We proudly offer:

We have over 75 different classes to choose from. If there is not one to suit your needs we will create one for you! We teach all levels of knitting and crocheting.

We will finish and block projects for you.

Finishing & Troubleshooting

Blocking can be done by yourself using our facility and equipment or our professional staff can do it for you, Dropped a stitch or made an uh-oh; stop in and see if we can assist you before pulling out the yarn and starting over.
